
Greenberg aced the 13th hole at Donald Trump's National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., but the charity's insurer claimed that the shot was illegitimate because it traveled only 139 yards, not the required 150.
The suit, which names Mourning's charity for urban youth, organizers of the event, and Trump, was filed Thursday night in the New York Supreme Court.
"This situation should have been a happy and exciting event," Greenberg told the New York Post. "It is my intention to use the proceeds for charitable purposes, which makes my being forced into legal action all the more tragic. Sadly, I was left with no choice."
