Chris Mullin Would Be Donnie Walsh's Choice as GM of Knicks

As the New York Knicks open the NBA preseason in Milan, Italy, Knicks president Donnie Walsh was candid when speaking about the future of the organization.

Walsh, 69, is entering the final year of his contract and would like Chris Mullin to be the next general manager of the franchise, according to the New York Daily News.

"If I could hire anybody, Chris would be the guy," Walsh told the Daily News. "That's who I want."

The 47-year-old Mullin is coincidentally in Milan the same time the Knicks are. He was invited by the NBA to participate in their Fan Zone experience.

Regarding Walsh's comments, Mullin responded by telling the Daily News, "Right now, I'm happy doing what I'm doing. I have no real plans for anything moving forward."

But Mullin has a strong bloodline to the New York area and the Knicks seem to be an ideal fit for the former general manager of the Golden State Warriors. The Brooklyn native attended St. John's University and is already a fan of the pieces the Knicks have in place.
