Chiefs' Head Coach Todd Haley publicly apologized Monday for refusing to shake Denver Head Coach Josh McDaniels' hand after Kansas City's 49-29 loss to the Broncos the day before."'I do believe in doing what's right and that was not right,'' Haley said at his news conference Monday, the day after his post-game snub of McDaniels. ''I probably let the emotions of the situation get me too much. I apologize to the fans and to Denver and to Josh. It's necessary to let everybody know that I would do that over again at the end, and that it wasn't the right thing to do.''
Far from the traditional post-game gesture of sportsmanship, Haley was seen on video and photographs on Sunday ignoring McDaniels' extended hand and instead pointing a finger in his face and delivering some sort of verbal scolding.
