The New York Giants don't have to be reminded that they have lost five straight to the Philadelphia Eagles, whom they welcome to the Meadowlands on Sunday in the battle between 9-4 teams for NFC East supremacy."We feel like we definitely owe them after losing five in a row," said New York's Corey Webster.
"A couple of games we gave away, a couple of games they beat our butt," said fellow Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas. "We know how many times they've beaten us. We have to change that."
For a while in Week 11 it seemed that the Giants were going to prevent the host Eagles from establishing their longest winning streak since 1990-92 in the 78-year-old rivalry. New York had overcome a 16-3 deficit to lead 17-16 with less than five minutes remaining and Philadelphia facing 4th-and-1. That's when Eagles running back LeSean McCoy scooted for a 50-yard touchdown, their only run over nine yards and one of just two gains as long as 25 yards for the NFL's kings of big plays. Giants quarterback Eli Manning ended all three of his subsequent possessions with turnovers one of which turned into a field goal for Philadelphia which prevailed 27-17 despite a subpar day from NFC passing leader Michael Vick, who was sacked three times, didn't throw a touchdown and averaged just 3.1 yards per carry.
