Ralph Friedgen Out at Maryland After Bowl

Ralph Friedgen's final game as coach at the University of Maryland will be the Military Bowl on Dec. 29 against East Carolina in Washington, D.C.

After that, the 2010 Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year is being dumped as the Terps' head man.

The Wasington Post
reported Monday that athletic director Kevin Anderson has made Friedgen's ouster official. News of the upcoming move surfaced late last week, along with a report that the school will make a push to hire former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach.

Maryland was 2-10 in 2009 but turned things around to go 8-4 in 2010. Earlier, Anderson said Friedgen would return for the 2011 season -- the final year of his contract.
